When is the next Climbing Guide Update to be released? And what will be in it?

Right now we are planning on releasing the Climbing Guide V2 in mid to late march. It will have more stability and will contain a number of cool features. We will be releasing some of the cooler features closer to the release date. The update will also contain guides to more areas, mostly on the east coast but a few on the west coast as well.

Do I have to pay for the upgrade of Climbing Guide?

You will not have to pay for the upgrade if you already own it. But the price of the application will be going up after the update because more guides will be added. The price won't increase drastically but, for the best savings, it would be smart to act now.

Can I suggest areas to add to the guide?

Certainly, but there will be no guarantee that they will be added. At the moment we are planning on adding the more popular areas to the guide and then working on other areas as the opportunities present themselves.

How do I report an error or wrong grade in the guides?

By sending an email to guides@fostwaremedia.com. We will take a look at the guide and contact the author to check the dispute then the best grade for the route will be given.

Who makes the topos in Climbing Guide?

In the original Climbing Guide all of the guides where created by staff members of FostWare Media. If you are interested in putting together a guide for an area please contact us at guides@fostwaremedia.com. You must have at least 5 years climbing experience and must live in the area that you are planning on creating. You must also have a general knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and have good writing skills. Please contact for further details.

At this point it is only available in English. We have been working with various translators to hopefully have additional language support in the next version.
